"It's been in the family for generations. There was never a question of selling it," Matsukane Imai shared about their 200-year-old ancestral home in Japan, which has been lovingly transformed into a guesthouse. The project, spearheaded by Imai and her son, aims to preserve the rich history of the property while providing a unique experience for visitors.
The guesthouse retains many original features, showcasing traditional Japanese architecture and design. Guests can immerse themselves in the culture and history of the region, enjoying authentic local cuisine and participating in traditional tea ceremonies. Imai emphasizes the importance of maintaining the home's legacy, stating that it serves as a bridge between the past and the present.
By opening their doors to travelers, Imai and her son hope to share the stories and memories that have been woven into the fabric of their family home. This endeavor not only honors their heritage but also fosters a deeper appreciation for Japan's rich cultural tapestry among visitors.
