Former NFL player arrested in connection to business fire, according to West Melbourne Police

A former professional football player has been taken into custody for allegedly setting fire to vehicles at a landscaping company in West Melbourne, according to local police.

The West Melbourne Police Department announced the arrest of the ex-NFL athlete in connection with a blaze that broke out early Wednesday morning at Tropic Care of Florida. Authorities say the suspect broke into the property, grabbed a can of gasoline from an unlocked work truck, and then used it to set multiple company vehicles on fire.

Fire crews responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames, but the damage to the vehicles was significant. No injuries were reported.

Police did not immediately release the name of the former player, but confirmed that he faces charges including arson and burglary. Investigators are still working to determine a possible motive for the attack.

The suspect is being held at the Brevard County Jail. A court appearance is expected in the coming days. The case remains under active investigation.
