More than 100 businesses situated along the Purple Line corridor in Maryland have received a total of $1 million through a dedicated small business grant program. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to local enterprises impacted by the ongoing construction of the light rail project.
The grants are designed to help these businesses navigate the challenges posed by construction activities, which can often disrupt foot traffic and create obstacles for customers. The funding will be utilized for various purposes, including marketing efforts, operational costs, and improvements to physical locations.
Local officials emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses during this transformative infrastructure project. By investing in these enterprises, the state aims to ensure their survival and success, ultimately contributing to the economic vitality of the surrounding communities.
